Job Description

This position is responsible for processing mariner payroll which falls under union guidelines and requires knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.

• Process bi-weekly union payroll.
• Collect, compile and enter payroll data.
• Processing payroll by established deadlines.
• Reconcile employee deductions.
• Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
• Create Union benefit and garnishment payment support.
• Process unemployment claims.
• Prepare overtime billing schedules from payrolls processed.
• Research of stale dated payroll checks.
• File payroll department records.
• Other payroll related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ADP and experiencing using ADP for payroll processing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics accounting software a plus.
• Knowledge of NSE payroll a plus.
• AA accounting degree or accounting Certificate required & BS in accounting preferred.
• Must have strong attention to detail and be able to multi-task.
• Ability to ensure accuracy of payroll.
• Be able to maintain confidential payroll information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Experience collecting, analyzing and organizing data.
• Solid data entry skills.
• Ability to work with other members of the company as a team.
